Default a/c cycling on and off anyone?

First time this has ever happened to me but I was driving with the a/c on today and it would cut off and then come right back on. The actual controls on the dash never went off but its like the blower shuts off for a split second and kicks right back on. I dont believe this is normal so has this happened to anyone else in any car that you have driven.

if it happened once, might be a fluke. if it happened a few times, it might be the compressor/compressor clutch going out.

check all the electrical grounds in the engine bay.

Refrigerant pressure too high or too low will sometimes do this, I've found. There is a range that the compressor works with. Perhaps your was just on the edge of that range.
