Default Idle going up and down

Somebody help. My idle keeps going up and down. Even while driving. It started happening when i jump started my car cause the alternator is bad. Kept jumping it every 5 miles or so just to get it home.

check main charging fuse to make sure you did not blow it, it will be the biggest fuse in your fuse panel under your hood and second you could have just shorted out a sensor from letting the power get to low it sounds like the idle air control valve more so than a vac leak because a vac leak would in most cases send the rpms really hi or very low sometimes it will go up and down but only really when you have a load on it and you are driving give those a check let me know

Thanks guys. I think it had something to do with the bad alternator cause when I changed the alternator everythng went back to normal. It scared the **** out of me cause i had alternators go bad a few times in my life but never effected the rpms.
