Default alternator woes 93 ls400

Well I believe my alternator went south today...Again..Its my fault tho.. When I replaced it in Early 2008 it had a pouring power steering pump that I was going to jump right on and repair. Well July 2009 and I still add a quart a week. So what do I get as my reward for letting this PS leak continue...Another bad alternator..woo hoo. I paid like $230 at a NAPA for mine last year. Any ideas to find the cheapest one out there again? This time the leak MUST be fixed... and feeling stupid

i just had to replace mine due to ps leak from previous owner. went through grand rebuilders on ebay and got a 200a for 200ish (oem aperage ~$100). can't speak on long term, but the transaction was pleasant.

Don't feel bad. After two years being replaced, the reman Autozone alternator died over the weekend. The IC inside the unit was going out. I would be driving on the freeway, and the dash lights would turn on. Shut the car off, then back on, and it would go away.

Replaced the alternator through Autozone's LLT, and it's all good now. Still makes you wonder what they exactly do to "reman" these damned things. Absolutely nothing probably.

I just got a replacement Denzo on Partsgeek.com for my SC and it was only $230 without the core exchange, but I'm gonna get on that soon here for an extra $40 back in my wallet. Don't even touch Autozone or any of those junk auto parts stores. Good luck.

Pretty much gonna pay around the $200 ish range, unless you decide to go the ebay route. Adding a quart of fluid a week is gonna kil the new one pretty quickly as well. Bottom line, you need to look into fixing the PS leak or continue to fish out money for alternators.
