I'd imagine the rods in your engine will **** themselves around 500hp. You could get there with nitrous but it might be tricky with boost as your engine is quite high compression.

it's hard to say power wise, but the vvt-i rods have been seen to fail on roughly anything over 8ish psi.

please search, this has been asked before many times.

why woul the ros fail aroun 8 psi? it's a strong engine. 8 psi souns a little weak. i was thinking aroun 20psi since it is a V8

because 95+ 1UZ (LS400) and 96+ 1UZ (SC400) have skinnier rods than the early model engines and have been seen to fail around that mark.....

whether something is a v8 or whatever has absolutely nothing to do with how many pounds of boost it can take.

is it possible to swap a LS400 engine for a LS430 engine? or are there differences in the engines other than the sizes?

As PD said, search.... More than likely if he is running a TT setup in a boat, he has gone with forged rods & pistons. No one is saying it not a strong engine, all he is saying is search......... CL, Lextreme, V-eight, Google... As the saying goes, if you have to ask, it's probably not for you..
