Default antenna alternatives?

so i figured the stock antenna on the 1gen LSs are really crappy and old looking. i figured what are any alternatives? i thought i could run a stubby like ones from perrin or the s2000 shorty antenna. anyone ever try this? i really hate the huge telephone pole of an antenna we have in the 1ls.

since the connector is the same any universal "short" antenna should work. just get a quality one for good reception.

I have one that is pretty much exactly like the S2000 antenna but with a custom short mast that I picked up on ebay. The original mast was 7 or 8" long and plastic. Reception is pretty terrible but I havent connected the power for the built in booster yet so I figure that's why...I hope.

shaving is only worth doing if you're painting the whole car, as it requires you to basically paint the entire driver side rear quarter panel floor to roof.

if you're going to have a hole, leave the antenna in it. no plug is going to look at home as much as a stubby antenna would.

supposedly (can't confirm this) but some paint guy once told me it's next to impossible to fade/blend on most of the old lexus paints because they're either pearls or metallics, and the Black is single stage with no clear.

It is extremely difficult to blend a pearl or metallic.
