Cool Turn on headlights and Reverse light comes on

What does it mean when I turn on my headlights, and the reverse light comes (like I'm in reverse but I'm really in drive) on and the transmission slows down while I'm in driving?

SK, but isn't it kind of fun to see the same question asked over, and over, and over?

Hey, he's new so let's not beat up on him too much.

gforce454, if you still haven't found one of the many threads on how to fix your problem, search the LS400 forum for the magic word "hinge".

There aren't any pics floating around, ya don't need them. Open your trunk and look on the left hinge, there's a run of wires all taped up. Just like the link that PD posted (so long ago and so many times) take the tape off, open it up and look at the wires. Inspect every wire in there to see if they are broken or stretched. If so, fix them and tape it back up again. It happens alot, there wasn't enough slack put in the wire harness at the factory. Very common problem.

It is usually the white colored wire that causes the problem, do not touch the green or yellow wires.
If you cut the wrong wire you will hear a ticking noise, at this point get as far away from the car as possible and put your fingers in your ears.

I have the exact same issue but it's with my is300(01)....I've drained fluid, filter and filled with new. Done some research and all points to SLU solenoid. But I was doing research and was brought to this thread, my lexus acts the exact same way as what's stated in this thread. Anyone have the same experiences with a is300? Thanks in advance guys
