Default transmission fluid leak

just wondering if anybody has had this or a similar problem, i think its a transmission fluid leak. (about 1 drop a day)

the area marked 1: the trans pan/cover? has alot of old caked on crud.
the area marked 2 has alot of caked on crud.
the area marked 3 : the exhaust y pipe? has wetting.

i am hoping its somthing easy like the trans pan gasket?

i am going to shoot/clean the area with brakleen or something, wipe it down good tomorrow and hope to pin point the leaks origin after.

does anyone have experience with this or suggestions???

this is on a 2000 ls4
