I just loged-in to WWW.TOPGEAR.COM and read reviews of LS, GS and IS, and they wrote that the wood was fake!!!
could this be true?
does lexus make fake wood?

Not true, someone is sadly mistaken. We were told my the dealer (yeah, I know, don't believe the salesman) that the wood was made by a piano maker company, can't remember which one.

The majority of Lexus wood is Burled California Walnut (the darker buled wood). They also use Bird's Eye Maple in special editions (coach or platinum edition, something like that) or it is available in the SC and LS430. The LS430 actually has many more choices than that. But, again, the majority is the Burled California Walnut - you can see some of that here --> Wood (BCW)

Irregardless, you can tell by looking that it's real. You've gotta have a good eye Actually, if you compared Acura (fake) and Lexus woodgrain side-by-side you would be able to tell the difference.
