Busted Rear Air Suspension
I'm sure this is a common problem as I've heard that it's common on the old Lexus'. I just got my 1996 LS 400 about a month ago for an excellent deal except the rear air suspension is quirky. Half of the time, the suspension doesn't go up and the other half it does. Essentially, when I turn the car off, the air suspension releases all of the air (you can visually see it and hear it as well). When I come back to drive off, I have to wait for a few minutes and, if I'm lucky, the air bags will fill up and the car will raise to it's normal level. If I'm not so lucky... it feels like I'm driving in one of the first cars ever made
I'm getting fed up with this and would like to find an affordable solution. I've done some research and have come up with the following links:
http://www.arnottindustries.com/part...id7_pid47.html
http://www.strutmasters.com/lexus-ls...sion-s/102.htm
http://www.eautoworks.com/product-Tanabe-30680.htm
Which of these is right for me... if any? Is there any way to repair the air suspension that's currently on the Lexus?
Thank you in advance!

Some members are finding good results with the Arnott products. Most, when the air suspension goes out, either just convert to coilovers or shock/spring setup since air replacement can get quite costly.

Thanks for the response.
I believe the only busted air strut is my rear driver side one. Would you recommend I get a remanufactured on and replace it or just play it safe and replace them all with the coilovers? How much does the ride differ with coilovers?

Arnott Works Well
I went with Arnott air ...strutsI have a 95LS400. I do have a leak in either the hoses or the pump..does anyknoe where I can get a diagram for the suspension system so I can track down the leak. The rear stays up fine so I am wondering if it a hose rather than the pump???

Also found some other useful information on how to find air leakage. See attached pdf.
