Put my new one in this weekend and it has definitely made a difference. I've actually had to adjust my driving habits.

Even with the traction:AA tires I have on right now I've found the car invoking the traction control in places like making a quick left turn at the end of a light (trying to get out of the box quickly). It's definitely made a difference. I also noticed that the car idles down sooner after a cold start, seemingly because the engine temp information may have been too low (showing colder than it really is) before.

This is how my old one looked.

Glad it worked,
the same part works on almost every toyota.
Be a pimp for once and splurge on OEM as it is worth it for this.

and most aftermarket (autozone, kragen, etc...) charge either the same or MORE than a competative dealership.

I've noticed I can get OEM parts cheaper at Carson or Parts.com than the local CSK knock off parts.

I can't wait to try this. My car's performance is exactly how you describe your's before you replaced the sensor.

It is the same part right down to working on a tercel , different part numbers as they supersede themselves every few years.

I bought coolant temp sender at Auto Zone about 6 months ago for about $29.00.No problems so far I try to get OEM parts but the Stealer was out of them so I went to Zone.I agree OEM is the way to go. In my city their is only one official Stealer. So when they are out. I go else where. It was for a 1994 LS400.

So I changed my ECT sensor and wow it works great until...

Well when i changed it coolant came at me. That was my bad for not draining it in the first place. But my engine temp goes up to the redline then down so I am assuming i have an air bubble in the coolant system right now that does that. Also my heating for car after changing it isn't being so. HOT and during the winter it be nice to have heat again.

So, I ordered an aftermarket sensor (green & copper, made in Spain) from eBay for $10 shipped.

I'll be replacing the sensor in a week or so and keep y'all posted.

I didn't want to fork out $62 for the OEM part from my local Lexus dealership.

I just picked up a 93 ls400 and I've only had it for a week and a half but my first test of driving it hard for 2 days and topping off the tank gave me 14.66mpg... and this week of driving it like a old lady gave me 13.63mpg... and im talking cruising and not driving hard at all... any ideas how I can fix it? im going to put e3 plugs in next paycheck then k&n air filter then royal purple... any ideas after that? im hopping to get about 18-19 mpg out of my new baby. also any good ideas on getting more power out of it? thanks
