Default ROM Key Questions

I have a 93 LS400, and my keyless entry does not work because the PO lost the screw to hold the key case shut and lost the button as well so I bought a new key w/ keyless entry.

The parts counter said it would be $60 for programming and I asked if I could program it from inside the car, and they said yes, if I knew how. I assumed I did because I had seen instructions online. Now I come to find out we were both wrong and you need a new ROM chip as well. A chip came with my key, so I guess I need to install it, but I wasn't sure where to do it, from what I've read its some where in the trunk but I was wondering if anyone had a picture or could give me more specific directions.

Also the key I was sold has a different FCC ID than the original and I asked if this would be a problem and they said no. I was wondering if it would become a problem should i ever repair my original key.

Currently the new key opens the door and starts the car just the keyless entry doesn't work.

Unless I misunderstand, I am not looking for an aftermarket solution, I am looking for where to put the OEM ROM chip.

see that's why you need to space things out and not give us a straight block of text.

iirc the chip goes into a box in the trunk, but it's different on a 1st gen so i have no real idea.
