Should I go to Pure Synthetic oil, what are the Pros and Cons if I do ?
Hello ~
I have a 1994 LS and I have been wondering weather or not I should go to synthetic oil or not , if so I will not go into Lexus for the regular 3,000 mile oil change and lookover, but I suppose I could go every 3,000 miles for an oil change???, how much is synthetic oil (per quart, and how much would it be for an LS) How much would I get riped off if I do change the synthetic every 3,000 miles ? Also how many of you do use synthetic, and have you noticed a diffrence in your vehicles preformance , if any? Ok well thank you all !

Mobil 1
I have used mobil 1 in all of my vehicles since it first came out, probably average of 5 to 6000 miles between changes, 15K or one year for my Porsche.
Absolutely no noticeable affects one way or another, except higher purchase price.
I consider it good insurance.

I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic on the first oil change after I bought my LS's. There were many studies that showed synthetic was more superior to mineral based oils. It costed ~ $2.50 more per quart for me to switch to synthetic and ~ 5 quarts were needed per oil change. At roughly 3-4 changes per year, that's mighty cheap insurance and better peace of mind knowing by babies were taken care off.
