The transmission is almost removed... BUT
Hello,
I had an unexpected transmission failure and am in the process of swapping out with an used one.
I removed the exhaust pipes, propellar shaft, and most of the parts from the transmission but am having problems removing the top two bolts from the bell housing.
I jacked the car up about 3' on jack stands and lowered the transmission as far as I could without hitting the rear engine mounting member. I used about 3' of 1/2" extension to try to reach the two bolts. The ratchet is near where the propellar shaft attaches to the transmision.
The problem is I am having trouble finding the bolts. Is there an easier way to remove the two bolts. I would like to hear other people's experiences. Thank you for your time.
