So fuel pressure light was from oil being to thick? (can't flo?)......when I got off the hiway, light came off at idle and/or slow driving.....now on cold start up lite comes on few minutes then fades but tick is still there.......switch out to 5w-30 and should be ok?

there's no fuel pressure light.
are you talking oil pressure light? if so, add soem oil. 10w40 is acceptable in teh engine, it won't hurt anything unless it's 50 below outside.

oil pressure light , sorry, thinking of another vehicle......on very cold days oil pressure light stays on a lot longer than on warm days.....after all motor does call for 5W-30.....the 10W-40 is no problem?.....WTF?

the 10w oil is thicker than the 5w which is why the op light stays on abit longer.
how cold is it getting up there? if you're way below freezing, then 5w is better. for summer time, 10w would be ok, not that i recommend it over 5w since that's obviously optimal but if it's in there i wouldn't worry about it. if you guys are expecting winter to last for another couple months, get that 10w out of there and 5w back in it.

well if it's taking a bit too long to build pressure in those temps, go ahead and switch to 5w30. keep your filter if youjust got the oil changed, and dump in 5 qts. of 5w.

What about the ticking? did I damage the lifters?.......and is there anything I can do, besides tear into the motor?

You can hear the ticking in the car more than if you were outside the car.

What a shame this car ran great now it ticks like a bomb.....$uck$!

As has been said, switch to 5w30. If the valvetrain is noisy for just the warmup, don't worry about it. If it's there all the time, you might need a adjustment. I would change the oil then listen to the engine again to see if the changes at all.

I should also mention that before this 10W-40 issue there was synthetic in there....you think this had anything to do with this oil pressure light......

This light was never a problem before, now it's a game to see how long it takes to shut off......Is oil pump R and R a big deal?

Thanks again for all the quick responses

Regards,
Louis
