Dash Cluster
I am not sure if anyone else has ever experienced this problem or not...I was driving on Sunday afternoon and my 1990 LS400 was working just fine. We took a 2 hour trip and had no problem on the way there. However, when I was driving home, ALL of the lights on my dash came on and would not go off. I felt the top of the dash and it was warm. The car was running just fine, not ever heating or anything like that. I made it home just fine and let my car sit. When I turned it on again later that afternoon, the lights were normal again. I am not sure what is going on. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what is going on with the cluster. Oh and I forgot to mention, a couple months back, while taking another trip, the speedometer went out completely. My car is a 90 and has only 102000k.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The other day my car did the same thing. The radiator, oil level, parking brake, Battery, and check engine light came on. Let the car sit overnight and cranked it up, presto, no lights on.................don't get excited yet. They came back on after driving and hour or so and then the car shut off 30 mins later. My alternator is dead. Those lights come on as a warning, do not ignore them. If your case is something different, who knows :-)

common problems
almost all gauge clusters in 90-94 ls400's have problems due to faulty components. got mine fixed for about $200. i found a guy on ebay that upgrades them with better components so that it doesn't just mess up on you again, as would happen if you took it to a dealer, which would cost $mucho$ anyway. hope this helps

when multiple lights come in...usually means a failing battery or alternator. the cluster problem is usually unlit background, fuel meter not reading correcting and the tacho or speedo not moving until it gets warm. this could be done for <5bucks if u have decent solder skills or know someone with solder skills. u just have to buy some capacitors which are <5 bucks.
