In your opinion what do you think is better?

I ask the question out of curiousty to see how board members feel, but ironically also because I found a screw in the front left tire today and it is leaking so rather then patch it I am just going to buy new tires tomorrow.

I am most likely going for MXV4 tires. I live in Canada up north so it will be snowing in the next couple of weeks...

What in your opinion is the better tire... in general, and if you could maybe point me in the correct direction for in the snow.

I have owned my vehicle 2 years now and last year in the snow it was very bad.

Last year, in my 1995 LS 400 I was stopped at a red light, on a completely flat section of road... and in drive, while having my foot on the brake, the car would slide from side to side unless I dropped it into neutral. I WANT TO AVOID THIS THIS YEAR LOL.

Hah... Too expensive to buy snow tires and then need tires in the summer as well..........

actually in the long run it's not that much more expensive. each set of tires will last twice as long since you're only running htem part of hte year. plus it's a nice excuse to buy a nice set of wheels and tires for summer. then keep the stock wheels with snow tires ready to bolt on when winter hits.

however, i dont' like eihter of those michelins in snow. look at the continental extreme contacts. also their procontacts are good.

To the OP,take this guys advice and you will be happy you did.I got myself not long ago a set of michelin X-ice X2 and with two bags of salt in my trunk and I will say my 94 LS never seize to amazes me.

haha wow, three ontario guys now.. yep, i went and got winter tires put on my 91LS.. good year's from canadian tire cost me about 540, balanced and installed.. they're amazing, much better than what my all seasons were in rain

and now i'm going to have to shop for summer tires/rims.. awesome excuse to buy aftermarket wheels

I had a MXV4 set on my 95 several years ago and they were great. I only got to experience winter weather maybe a dozen times but they did fine. They lasted for nearly 60,000 miles though which was cool.

MXM4s and the Energy MXV4 series are low-rolling resistance tires designed for ride comfort, decent handling and long life. Unless you have a Prius or an Accord(and want to keep the OEM ride from Honda), avoid then like the plague. The Primacy MXV4s are much better traction and handling wise.

MXM4 and energy MXV4's will both work. The Primacy is just a newer design of the tires. It has a lower mileage rating but better handling. I would say the MXM4/MXV4's are geared more for early generation ls's. The Primacy's were built for sporty daily drivers. Like that person who bought that Camry but has 17's on it from factory.
