Projectors in the early models?
Why is it that Toyota didn't equip the early 400s with projector lens? I mean, the ES, GS, and SC all had them (except ES250, but that's to be expected) so I was thinking that because of the tall and big headlights, it wouldn't have looked attractive. The other models had sleek headlights so it worked well. What do you think?

Back with the earlier models, with Lexus still being very much a brand new company here in the states, their main focus was EXCEPTIONAL build quality for your money. They were more focused on making sure that the $30+K that you would be spending was well worth the money, while maintaining Toyota quality and reliability. Once they had gotten this down to a science, very quickly, then you saw more and more desired, creature comforts coming into the cars. If you remember, the first gen LS400 was MILES ahead of it's competitors when it first arrived; and it truly was a car that was FAR ahead of it's time.
