Hello from a noob - New LS!
Hey guys, my name's Steve and I'm from the UK. I'm a volvo man at heart, apart from a brief stint in a horrible old ford escort they're all I've ever driven.
I recently had to retire my beater volvo from daily duty at 204k miles, and started driving my 'racecar' volvo to and from work, however the super stiff suspension and high powerband isn't cut out for the awful roads and traffic around here and it wasn't a particularly pleasant drive.
I decided I needed something a bit more luxurious and have always fancied a big lexus, so a quick search on ebay found just the car for me.
As you may know the fuel prices over here are ridiculous, and as such big old cars tend to sell very cheaply as nobody wants them (which is why I've had so many volvos! ) I don't do huge mileage so I don't care, and hey, that's the price you pay for a bit of luxury isn't it?
Anyhow... my poison was a '95 LS400 in blue with grey leather, all the toys as far as I can tell except air suspension, nearly complete lexus service history, blah blah blah, and 81k miles!
How much did I pay? £970. That's about US$1400
and? I LOVE IT!!!! What a fantastic vehicle. It's my first V8 and I'm absolutely in love.
It's not perfect by any means, there's a few slight scratches no doubt thanks to some inconsiderate *******s in a car park, but for that price I couldn't argue. I'll try and give it a clean and snap a few shots when the weather clears up here.
<-- How I look when driving it.

Cheers Steve. Welcome to CL - Love the UK! I have fond memories of best bitters and hanging out in Lyme Regis. If I had my 95 to drive there it would have been even better! Now that you have your 95 you can slowly fix the little glitches and restore it to like new condition - pics are always welcome as that blue color is a bit more rare here

I'm in South Wales, just across the border from England
It's pretty filthy at the moment due to all the grit on the roads. Once the volvo has been picked up by the scrap man, I can get the LS onto the driveway for a proper clean.
I've already started planning the mods It most definitely needs some bigger rims and to go a bit lower. I'd love to weld up a custom exhaust too and hear that V8 sing! There's certainly plenty of inspiration for me on this forum, you guys have got some fantastic looking cars!

Welcome to the club
The car looks nice and for only 1400.$$! What's the mileage?
I bought mine last year (same year as yours) for 5000.00$. You'll find this forum very helpful, just be patient to search the threads and you'll find info on just about anything. Congrats!
