Default Starter on 95 LS400

Just bought another daily driver yesterday and this morning went to start the car...Just clicks clicks and it wouldn't turn over...Tried it again it started fine...Does it sounds like starter or battery? How much would a starter replacement cost?

check your battery first...much more easier and cheaper to do. run a volt meter on it and see whats the voltage. starter replacement is a pita, just did it on my 93 and boy was it a hassle.

Hopefully it is your battery - either dead or connections corroded. If it is your starter then you are looking at several hundred dollars even if you do it your self.

Our cars have a couple connections that are prone to corrode if they are not properly maintained.

Great news that was all it was. They sell a red spray that keeps corrosion from building up. It is inexpensive and is available at most auto stores.
