93 ls400 pioneer radio -built in amp, or seperate?
Hopefully someone can help. I have a 1993 Ls400 with a (stock) pioneer radio w/cassette player. no cd or cd changer. I would like to put a different radio in there, but i do not know if the amp is built in the head unit or if it somewhere else in the car. Do i have to install an additional amp if my new head unit does not have a built in amp? where is the best location to install an amp?
Also, i just changed the the antenna mast and i noticed, where the signal wire plugs in, there is also an additional plug- that looks like a coaxial next to it that is not plugged into anything. what is that (for)? Thanks for your help.

The coax cable was for an optional dealer installed phone. There were two different phone systems available in 1993 - fixed and portable. The other end of the coax is above the headliner at the center top of the rear window. You can see it if you take a peek.
