Unhappy Car still stalls after long trips 1995 ls 400

Drove from Montreal to Connecticut on Thursday afternoon and after a 3 hour non stop drive on the 87 south I exited to put in some gas and the car stalled on the off ramp. I am in Connecticut today and leave for Montreal tomorrow and dread to have the same thing happen again. The car starts right up again without any problems.I have followed this forum on this particular issue and have had the following done since purchasing the car last year:
1) New rotors, caps, wires and spark plugs
2) Cleaned throttle body
3) New ECM from Autozone

I have to replace one of the two O2 sensors as my check engine light came on after about a week after the ecm was installed.

What else could be causing the car to stall? I know that turning on the A/C will prevent stalling, but I thought doing all the above mentioned stuff would solve the issue. Any suggestions?

Also, I just filled her up in anticipation of tomorrow's 6 hour drive, however when I turned on the car, the needle for the gas indicator did not shoot right up to "F" as it usually does, but is resting between F and the quarter tank mark. Anyone ever experience this problem?

Pk Celsior,
So your stalling issues are gone? How much was your ECM? Is there anything else you did to resolve this problem?

yes i was researching this forum back in the day, because when my dad first got the car it would stall after long road trips. it happened to me when i took it to riverside, la, Tuscan and etc. so i got sick and tired of it, and finally saved up enough money to get the ecm. it cost me 1k to get it, and they took back my old core. not sure what it would be now, since when i got mine they were rare as is. so that was the only thing i did. than i took i a trip to riverside countless times, bam no more shutting off.
i have a reman ecm from lexus not a brand new ecm. i would look at the stickies, because i remember places that were able to rebuild our ecm, but i forgot who, and where.
yes my stalling issues are gone for sure ive been driving on the new reman ecm for 3 years now and still no issue.

the stalling was addressed in a Lexus TSB and requires an updated ECU.

Thanks for the help guys. Guess I'll have to turn on the A/C to keep the revs up until I decide whether or not to get an updated ECM. What a bummer as I figured the one I purchased last year at Autozone would have been an updated unit-dumb presumption.
I remember one of our members mentioning a place where you send them the ECM and they reflash/recode it. Does anyone remember who they are and where they are? I may as well have my original ECM which is sitting in my closet reflashed and return the unit which is presently in my car to Autozone as it has a 1 year gaurantee(till Feb 2009).

to tell u the truth it sounds like a vacuum leak, they have cans of smoke that they inject into ur system,if there is a leak the smoke comes out through the leak in the hose or where it is its leaking

Don't bother having your unit refurbished. Get an updated unit from a junkyard using www.car-part.com for your search.

Use this table to find the right part for your car:

Thanks sonyman.I'll get right on it. Car did it again when I stopped at customs (after having driven for 4 hours). and then again from the border to Montreal(about a 40 mile drive). I remembered to turn on the A/C to prevent it from turning off and putting us in a dangerous situation.
Good news on this trip was my mileage. Got 540 kms on a little bit more than half a tank.(2 people and trunk with about 75lbs of stuff).
Miss the price of gas and the smooth U.S. highways-Montreal is pothole city.
Thanks again guys.
