Default Can I replace my 15x6.5 rims with 17x8

I'm thinking of swapping my 1991 LS400's original 15 inch (15x6.5) rims with 17 inch (17x8.0) rims. I will be keeping the tire circumference relatively close (within 3%) to the oem tires. My question is: will the increased rim width from 6.5 inches to 8.0 inches cause any problems with my suspension or safety? Also, does anyone know if I'll have any clearance issues? I appreciate your help.

Thanks, guys. Btw, the original rims are 50mm. I was also wondering if the car can still be aligned using its original specs for toe and camber.

huh, he's changing the wheels, the Diamter difference is minimized, and did no suspension work, an alignment is not required.

UNLESS your last alignment was a good while ago (>9months)
