Quick Q's about Shocks, and coupon codes for CL vendors.
Hey everyone I had a couple of quick questions, the first regarding shocks.
I'm planning on lowering my car (hopefully soon) with Tanabe DF210's, and my assumed OEM shocks with ~151k on them probably wouldn't like it too much. My question is, what exact shocks should I be looking at?
I've heard Bilstein, Tokico, and Koni. Which is the best bang for the buck? And which model of which make? I'd like to not spend an arm and a leg.
I hear the Bilstein HD's aren't recommended to be run with lowering springs, are there any other suitable Bilstein models?
I don't want to ride on rails, that's why I'm staying away from coilovers, I like the smooth ride the Tanabe DF210's maintain with a good drop. I wouldn't mind stiffening it up a little bit to get rid of some suspension travel when I get on the throttle, but I DO NOT want an overly aggressive stiff sports car feel.
Also maybe KYB? What will be a good shock that will last me quite a while a not "prematurely" blow out?
And question #2
I was just about to buy something off of l-tunedparts.com and was wondering if there were any coupon codes for CL members??
Thanks a lot everyone.

the Tanabe DF210's are a 1.8-2" drop, and will be hard on any shock, KYB or bilstein, but prolly better on the kyb since it is softer.
if you want mild height change and a smooth ride try getting a set of H&R springs and KYB shocks, its an ~1-1.5in drop and a very smooth ride.
