Default Electrical Issue! Help Pls

1991 LS400

So I had an issue with my interior lighting system.

I was replacing the ignition switch bulb with an upgrade to LED.

When I went to remove the oem bulb, it seems the socket was broken and the power and ground touched!

Now the two bulbs at the feet of the driver/passanger have popped.

Replaced them and the ignition bulb.

But they dont light up.

Checked all fuses. No issues there.

Did smell something like it melted.

So I checked the power and ground of the wiring from the Ignition Switch bulb.

The power is working fine. So I went ahead, wired the power to a bulb and found another ground. Now that bulb lit up. Did the same for the other two areas. Same result.

I also changed the dome lamp from off to ON, bulb lit, now I swapped it to DOOR, and opened the door...the bulb didnt illuminate.

So the ground must be the issue right?

So I followed the ground as high in the wiring before it interlaces with other electrical components. No bare wires shown.

Now im not going to go and take the dash apart to look for this damn issue. Must be where all wires connected to those components meet. I can live without the lighting on the ignition or the floors...

****UNLESS ANYONE HAS A GOOD IDEA, cause that ground, as you know, once the door closes, is the only ground I know that causes the light to slowly dim. Done have a electrical diagram and would need someone to point it out to me anyway****

*BUT*

My aftermarket alarm on my car is intertwined with those wiring. It was setup so once the alarm was set, anyone who even pulled on the driver door, causing the keyhole to light up, would make the alarm go off.

Now I plan to move those wiring to be connected to something else since the alarm only goes off by motion sensor and NOT by doors opening. So my car isnt safe.

Now Im not sure what to wire it to. Not sure where under the dash is the main wiring thats connected to all 4 door sensors that light up the instrument custer door symbol. Any ideas? Let me know please!

the installer for your alarm should have wired the alarm to the door trigger not the interior lights.....

go back and actually TEST the related fuses, most likely it's one of those.

Tested the fuses. They are fine. Just changed the wiring to the doors as u suggested. Now alarm triggers from any of the doors.

Just lost the lights at the feet, ignition switch, and the option of the dome light to open when the door is open.

No worries.

Alarm mattered.

Thanks
