Hey I'm thinking about doing this soon.
What do you torque it down to when tightening the new one up??
Do you need to put anything on the threads or just pop it in?
Thanks

Yeah 420 is usually a little after the light comes on. I haven't taken it too far though I don't want to run out of gas! hahaha
Oh one more question!
Is it necessary to get an OEM sensor or can I just go down to the local auto parts store and get a generic one? But then I'll probably have to do some cutting and splicing? or would it just plug right in?
I just answered my own question by looking at the photos

I allways buy OEM Lexus parts. Aftermarket or OEM ECT sensor will both fit. But the sensor can be a bit different inside with different values, and therefore the ECU can receive different values. The same with for example aftermarket O2 sensors values can be different.

just had my mech do it, its a bit tougher to do on first gen than second.
i have also had him clean out my throttle body
i feel a difference in the acceleration but idk if its the throttle clean out or the sensor doing it.
i have only done it today so i havent really been able to test mpg yet
