Does anyone have a 2DIN radio in their 1st gen.LS? And how does it fit and look?

I have had both a 2DIN 7" screen (Alpine) and a single DIN 7" motorized (Pioneer) in my 1gen.. I currently have the single DIN 7" screen in my car, but honestly, I preferred the 2DIN 7" screen more. I thought it was a cleaner look. The fitment was great.

I found a double din dash kit from ebay $15 (METRA 95-8156)

I like the bluetooth, usb and ipod inputs. now I have to upgrade the sub amp.

Do you got a link where to buy a 2DIN dash kit for the LS 400 1993. I can only find it for 1995 model and later!

i used a JDM double din kenwood in mine. bolted right into the stock brackets, then i just made some trim rings out of a composite material i had sitting around.

That Pioneer unit, that is linked above looks very nice. I am also shopping to find a double din unit myself. Thought of the carputer route, but than again dont spend that much time IN my car to have it to be of much use.

That's what I was thinking. I didn't need gps, I have a tomtom one that I can transfer from car to car. I thought about a dvd player (@$400-to ?)but then how much dvd watching was I going to do while driving. Plus I already have a portable dvd player. I am pleased with this pioneer player. It has a usb in, that I routed the cable to the center console. I did the same with the aux in cable. This unit will search and list all of the music on any thumb drive attached to it. Displaying the artist and song/album. The bluetooth is cool, when ever I get in the car stereo phone option ( handsfree ) will recognize it and links too it. In addition, the bluetooth will connect to my mini laptop (EEEPC 901) and will play all of the music on that too. For $250 I thought it was a great replacement.

Just bought a 2DIN dash kit from metra http://cgi.ebay.com/1993-1994-LEXUS-...713.m153.l1262 , to mount my new radio 2DIN JVC KW-AVX810 7". But the dash kit is too small for the radio!!!

Has anyone experienced this?
