Installed aftermarket stereo but antenna is not activating...?
Hi Folks,
I have a 1993 Lexus LS400 and installed an aftermarket stereo system (kenwood kdc-138). Nothing too fancy but does the job.
But after installing the sytem with the new metra mounting kit and all I'm puzzled to see that the antenna is not coming out or retracting anymore (it use to with the factory stereo).
I'm not sure where the wiring mishap has happened either. Everything else works like a charm.
A couple of things... I did insert the antenna prong or cable into the slot on the stereo. Second, there was a solid blue wire for power or I believe power cont. which I connected together to the stereo (not sure if that helps in the troubleshooting).
Of couse I probably should be asking what to do with the other antenna prong that I have left which I simply covered up b/c I was running out of time. The second antenna prong is not connected to anything and I don't have any idea where to connect that. I'm suspecting that this gives the activation to the antenna to retract out.
Any ideas on how the connections should be set?
Thanks and have a great weekend!
