Default LS400 Timing Belt

Has anyone had a problem with the timing belt going around 90k miles?

Most have reported the belt to go till about 120 or so. However, depends on the year of your 400. Pre 95 cars have non interference motors, so if it breaks no problem, you can replace.

95+ cars you better change it on schedule.

My car had its belt change (95model) at 60K miles. I bought it at 117K miles. I just changed it, to be on the safe side, and good for another 100K miles.

Good luck.

Good to know thanks. I'm not sure if mine has been changed. its a 96 with 157k. Would there be a sticker on the engine somewhere if It had been changed?

There is supposed to be a sticker, but lots of time there isn't. Mine was changed at a dealership, I have the receipts, but no sticker. So I did it on my own, given I wanted a base line for the car, so I knew where I stood maintenance wise.
