why do you want a 1jz? its going to be struggling hard against the LS' weight.

if you want a jz motor you pretty much NEED a 2jz, the extra low end torque will help.

and no, nobody makes any conversion kits for motor swaps into the LS.

I wonder if GS300 mounts will bolt up to the block as they share the 400 unless they use different subframes which is hard to see be cost effective.

A 1JZ would move an LS just fine. A 1LS is only 300lbs more than a MKIII Supra. That being said, there's really no reason to go 1J over 2J in a car that the 1J was never used in.

the LS has much taller gearing than any supra.....both in rear end and in teh trans.

and a 2LS is decently heavier than a 1LS...

and the 1jz, which was NEVER used in the supra, produces a lot LESS torque, especially at the lower end where you need it for a heavy car, than the 2jz.

some members have messed with later model vvti mounts....but no confirmed fitment.

You wouldn't use the LS's transmission if you swapped in a JZ. Last I checked a 1LS weighed 3850 and a 2LS weighed 3650, is that wrong?

Either way the 1JZ with stock turbos has enough low end power for an LS. And it did come in the Supra in Japan. I had swapped a 1J into my Supra and had a final gear ratio of 3.73. Even with a couple friends in the car, it had plenty of go. Those small turbos spool up very quickly. Given I don't know the final gear ratio in the LS, I doubt it's super low since it uses a version of the A340 transmission.

2LS rear ratio is 3.27:1

1LS weight is ~3851lbs
2LS weight is ~3890lbs
