95-96 Bumper on 90-94
Hey guys,
I am still in the process of purchasing a car and have narrowed it down to 90-96 LS400's. I was wondering (due to financial restraints) if I could have a 95-96 bumper retrofitted to a 90-94 model year car. Has it been done before and how hard is it? What all parts to I need?

You can do anything with modification, however it is not a direct fitment for a UCF20 bumper to fit on a UCF10, I personally don't know anyone that has done it. I think it may take as much $$$ and work to get it to look right as just getting an after market front bumper, they range depending on brand from $350 to $550, then simply paint and bolt on.
thats exactly what i needed to know, thanks!

I am just doing the front end. I am still keeping this as an option however incase I don't find anything that works for my taste in the aftermarket. I may do the sides also.

I have a 96 front bumper but to make it fit your car is to much work and you have to know how to rework urthane.
I have but on a 98-00 Lsport line on my 96LS so I know what is involved.
Buy youself a full bumper kit instead of you idea.

There appears to be more front overhang on the 1X so it may take some additional fab work. At this stage, these mods on high mile samples are marginal uses of money. Probably a host of other mechanical necessities to take care of than cosmetic stuff: struts, strut bars, A/C.... if you can get a well maintained one-owner car...
Another vote toward just buying a 95+:
Improved brakes, safety updates, performance...there will still likely be more mechanical fixes as these are now aging.
