Default Emergency brake release just broke. EDIT: NM

EDIT: Not broken, just stuck behind the foot rest. WTF? I had to pull the E-brake release, pull the e-brake pedal, and pull up on the foot rest. Then it came free. Whoops. OK, carry on.

Just washed it and was going to go for a drive.

The E-brake was on the floor, pretty tightly to keep the car from rolling anywhere. I pulled the release handle and felt something release, except the pedal was still tight to the floor.

I peeked up under the dash and can see the cable the handle pulls. It's intact and moves freely with operation of the handle.

Any ideas what could be broken? Thanks.
