1st gen LS400, rims from an '06 GS300
Good local deal on these. The LS needs new tires anyway and the GS tires are nearly new.
Anyone have a photo of this combination? I know it's kinda a long shot, but hey. My LS is two tone white, the rims are silver.
Pic of rims here:

Lastly, my limited research tells me these are the same bolt pattern and will fit. I thought it prudent to double check here with those who know better than I.
Thanks I'll throw some pics up here if I get 'em and nobody can find a picture of a lexus with this combo.

Crappiest rims ever. I bought a set of these for my 01 GS430 in 2005. A month later I hit a pothole, bent 1 rim, had it replaced. Skip forward to 2008, two weeks ago I hit another pothole, two rims are bent, and I have 2 replacement rims on order. For the time being I actually swapped the rims from my LS onto the GS and from the GS to LS, because im not driving the LS much, and I need my GS to drive tip top. I'll take pictures later since my LS is sitting on these. IMO it looks like crap. They do look good on the GS though.

Those look like chrome rims? The ones I'm getting are silver. Thanks though, I'm digging that picture.

My LS400 currently has 205/65R-15s on it. I have no idea if they're stock size.
A smaller overall diameter, assuming a slight drop for looks is just fine. Maybe compensate slightly for the tall gears. Probably not really noticable.

Dude. Nice! Thanks for the pics. Those tires are much lower profile than whats on my car now. I think it's gonna look freaking great.
Of course I have a feeling I'll have to get some springs on there to give it a slight drop. We'll see. I def post pics when they're on. I bought the rims/tires I'm picking them up next week.

Found this calculator here.
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
According to that, the two tires are very nearly the same.
Stock - Dia: 25.5"
New - Dia: 25.3"
Stock - revs/mile: 791
New - revs/mile: 796
Stock - Radius: 12.7
New - Radius: 12.7
The major difference is the sidewall at 5.2" and 4.2" respectively. With the new setup the speedo should read 0.6% fast.

However, when its time to change the tires, if I still have the GS by then, I might replace the rims as well. I just dont know what kind of 16's to get though... I think the stock 16's that came with 2GS look horrible. I don't want anything aftermarket either. I was also thinking about keeping the 17's but going with a higher profile tire, like 235/55/17 instead of specified 235/45/17. I wonder what kind of problems it might cause if I were to do that?

Looking at tire sizes today. I think a 225/55-17 will do the trick nicely. It's a little more popular than the 235/55-17. That gets a sidewall of 4.9" instead of 4.2" making it fit the LS a little better. I found some BFG g-sports in 225/55-17 for $95 at tire rack.
Speedo will be off by 3.5% or so.
