LS400Dave

I just bought a used '98 LS400 and I love it! One of the things I was pleasantly surprised about is that I don't get blinded by the headlights of the cars behind me at night. I wasn't aware that the side mirrors dimmed along with the rear-view mirror until I drove the car on a back road one night. Anyway, I'm thinking of getting the windows tinted but I'm concerned that it would prevent the side mirrors from dimming since the sensor is inside the car in the rear-view mirror. I'm in CA where you're technically not supposed to tint the windows on the two front doors - only the rear doors and the rear window. If I do that, is that going to make the sensor think it doesn't need to dim the side mirrors?

Does anyone have tinted windows on an LS400?
Do the side mirrors dim at night?
If so, what % tint do you have on the rear window and the front doors?
Any recommendations as to % of tint?

"yea, mostly" is right on. The mirrors do not tint nearly as soon with the rear window tinted with 35% tint - the legal limit in Kansas.

it works fine on mine with tint, so those cars with poorly aligned headlight no longer bother me.

Mine still work perfectly and i have 5% tints all around,
but at night i have to roll down the windows because with those dark tints and tinted mirrors you dont see a thing everything is just pitch black!!

Didn't interfere at all though
