hey Im new to the forum I just purchased a 1990 ls and its great I cant believe how smooth these cars are and the looks I get when driving it. I do have a question though I noticed some green fluid coming from what seems to be the water pump area but it has a oily feel to it car is not overheating and no smoke from engine or exhaust any ideas

might be a small leak in one of the coolant hoses.

yeah Im thinking coolant as well just feels really oily though

Coolant is not watery, it does have a somewhat residual texture to it. The sensation could be described as "oily".

Im taking it in to get the water pump and timing belt changed so hopefully that will fix the problem thanx for the help

My coolant is red. So I guess that it would be hard to determine in the future if it was leaking coolant or tranny oil.

Guess it hits home the point to use Toyota Long Life "Red" fluid. My guy says others will nor properly lubricate moving parts, etc. Sorry you are having trouble though.

yeah I plan on flushing coolant and putting red coolant in green coolant was in already when I purchased car but I must say it runs really well for having 191692 miles seems to have been taken care

True about the mileage - many other cars would no last that long. You have a car that will take you well beyond 200,000
