Did a quick search, need a quick answer. Does a 94 need red or pink coolant? Or does it matter?

It was designed when Super Long Life (pink) did not exist. I would use Toyota Long Life coolant (red), and do in my personal vehicle. You could use the SLL coolant, but the manual states to change the coolant every 30,000 miles or 24 months, and I would abide by that.

It should be red. Just get the gallon jug at the toyota dealership. And I agree, you might as well flush it now if it has never been flushed before. Coolant loses it's performance over a period of time. Color is not an indicator as to whether the coolant still has life in it. Plus it only takes about 2 gallons to flush the system.

How do I go about flushing it? And do you know how much a gallon is off the top of your head?

here is a good way to change the coolant you have a drain on the engine to drain the block and a drain on the radiator to drain it. I use the toyota red coolant and mix it half with distilled water my 91 lexus has all the orginal hoses and radiator with 200,000 miles don't ask my how they have lasted so long but they are still goning strong I drain both every 24 months like the guy above said to do I have been doing this for 10 years and so far so good.

Read thru the excellent Lexls Tutorial but must say that isn't it easier to use a 10mm with a long extension (13" or so) to remove the left block & right block inner plug?

The extension allows you to go between the Steering & control arm structure & not have to go around the O2 Sensors. I had my O2s off & still found this easier!

Addendum: I notice my 94LS is a tad different. It does not appear that Lexls has the 2 piece (inner/outer) drain.

Does the lexls tutorial procedure the same as performing a flush on a 97' LS??
I would like to perform this as well.
