stayed over at a friends house the other day, i come outside and this is what i see (forgive the car for being dirty, its been rainy on and off as of late)




of course the car actually parked next to me is a brand new tundra with no bumper damage, so whoever hit me took the **** off and of course didnt leave a note.

cant claim anything else on my insurance or they'll drop me due to my history of claims:

t-type:
stolen once, broken into twice (even with alarm!), two hit and runs in parking lots similar to this and one accident where someone sideswiped me..

ls:
hit in a parking lot causing $6k in damages to the rear door and 1/4 panel, hydroplaned on the hwy going 40mph, did 2 360's and tapped a wall...

I cant win for losing. anyway, enough of my whine fest, hope no one called the whaaaaaaaambulance yet..

talked to local guy i met online about my woes that owns 4 salvage yards in dallas... he made a couple calls to his yards and found a white LS with a perfect body..


$125... not too shabby... the car also had a MINT passenger seat he said i could come get anytime i wanted for the nice price of FREE..


body shop says $250 to paint the door though..

Looks like someone hit you with a HAmmer, but then I noticed it bent the bottom part of the door. I think a truck hit you with his hitch...might wanna check out the rear of that tundra, bro.

not enough room, at night there are zero parking spaces so whoever hit me either hit me coming into the spot or hit me leaving, it looks like they had a somewhat soft bumper cause the door is caved in above and below the reinforcement bar..

the car also has a non-cracked drivers side window switch so i'm gonna see how much he'll let that one slide for..

i dont know if he's willing to deal with shipping as they are going to have to be palleted and freighted, but i will ask.

A good body works guy could have fixed it by "pulling out" the dent and painting I think, instead of u buying the door

I remember my first hydroplane, and did the same thing as you, except at 65mph. There was a huge dip in the freeway where the water was collecting. It was fun as hell, of course, I missed like two lanes of traffic going about 60mph as well. I managed to straighten the car and then keep going. No more than several hundred feet is another vehicle plowed into another, as a result of hydroplane. The officer that was taking the report just shook his head and kept writing his report. Oh well.

Sorry to hear about your woes. I'm probably the only idiot here who drives a Lexus with liability insurance only.

That is a bummer -- but it happens,.. and PD is right, Karma will catch up to you. Just let it roll off your back. You've got the door. Take it to a body shop and get them to paint it before installation. Might save you some money on prep work, ask them about it.

You could also , potentially, not have to be without your car.

dude, the title of your thread is hilarious!
sorry about the damage...but it seems like you've got things handled ok. better to fix it and not report it to your insurance company...you'll save money in the long run.
take a pic when it's painted so we can see how it looks...

yep... the clear was seperating on the passenger side doors and the top of the passenger 1/4 panel near the trunk... thats some nice and new paint right there thats flaking off... agg!

i'll prep the door tomorrow, prob get it painted next week when i get paid.

I just picked up a white drivers side door (no mirror) for my 94LS from a place in Wilmer, South East of Dallas.

Wonder if your door came off the same car?

Mine was "hit & runned" in a parking lot & 2 seperate shops (& a Geico adjuster) said it needed to be replaced. They say the damage is all the way to the intrusion bar.

Any chance these came off the same car? What body shop are you using?
