thanks guys....i'm really liking them....it doesn't look as much like an "old mans car" now.....lol...

tjw98ls...thanks for your help as well

i got these wheels from another cl member....they're 17's off of an '01 LS430.
new michelin mxv4 plus's.....

for now, the only things i wanna do are get rid of the pin striping, replace all the gold badges with silver, and replace the amber bumper lights.

maybe some day i'll go monotone

I like those wheels, but only in a painted variation. Chrome doesn't do them justice if they are the wheels I'm thinking of.

Something is throwing the look off for me.. Maybe its the profile of tires, or the wheel to fender depth (lowering needed).

I'm not going to lie,.. personally I like your factory wheels better.

That said,.. I think Lowering the car will change that opinion really quickly.

But it seems the majority love em,.. so I have odd taste apparently

Great job, you get a good deal? Come with tires?

Closer I look -- A fresh coat of tire dressing would do wonders for the looks. Mind redoing the tire dressing and taking a new picture? Perhaps a close up of one wheel as well.. I want to see if they are what I think they are. (Name brands/letters/numbers won't help.. I have the visual in my head)

Looks good thanks -- No problem man. I'm not asking that you wax your car or even wash it hehe.. Just slap some tire dressing on one side of it (5 mins) and take a snap shot

Also your car has so much potential -- Are you a fan of light tint.. like legal 35%? What I have on my car?

It would make your black look so much better.. (it already looks fantastic) but its a cheap and really major plus in the looks dept. for just about anyones taste.

If you are conservative, just don't get a front strip done.

Well -- around here.. It runs anywhere from 140$ (for 5 yr warranty tint, if you were gonna get rid of the car soon) -- to $350 for some crazy ceramic tint -- (not necessary).

A good lifetime warranty tint, installed well,.. Should run you about 190$-200$ installed.

I found a good installer here who did all my windows with lifetime warranty for $179, with front strip.

But expect more around $200 -- though if you call around you can generally find a reasonable price.

Takes them about 1:30, to 2 hours to do an LS 400.

i dont care what anyone says, black on chrome looks clean always( unless your black paint sucks and there rims are to bling) your car looks real clean and your car looks much newer now then it did before, hell, if i didn't know lexus i would think it was a much newer car. as for removing the pinstripe, i say put money towards tint just an opinion
