Running OEM Mitsubishi Evo 7s

Now drooling over Evo 10 MR 18inch forged BBS wheels but it's a bit pricey.

A long-time lurker, but now bought this one - a '00 Platinum Ed... Still covered in road muck after across-conti trip to bring it home. Feels very much like my old W124 400E from many years ago with some W126 flavor thrown into the mix, Just more modern, more spacious and with worse seats.

Quick question is your box ported up to the stock sub?

Nope, just a sealed 0.5 cubic foot box. I actually have to turn up my bass **** and/or bass boost on the head unit for the level of sound I'm shooting for...

To put things into perspective, when listening to a song with hard-hitting bass - let's say rock/metal/etc., (all bass boost is off) you have the effect of someone tapping on your shoulder in the driver's seat. The rear passenger seat has a sort of thump going on, but it's minimal. This is without the stock subwoofer in place. With the stock subwoofer in there, there was little to no sound entering the cabin at all. Alternatively, popping the trunk in a parking lot still sounds oh-so good :3 When it comes to bass-heavy music like hip hop, you'll feel the door vibrating slightly and the rear seats become a massage chair on the super low setting.

Right now, I'm considering throwing a pair of mid-tier 10" subwoofers/single god-tier 10" subwoofer in the rear deck and having a sealed box built which would basically hang from the rear deck (go hard or go home). Now, if I were you and looking for decent bass in the cabin and on a budget (ironically, that was me and I failed), I'd say throw a nice 8" or 10" (w/ adapter) subwoofer in the stock opening and run it infinite baffle. Here's a nice thread from CarAudio.com reviewing a few of the most popular offerings. PM me if you want any extra information (e.g. opinions, how I did my install, more opinions, etc.).
