I just bought a 91 with 148,000 miles. The car had one owner before me and the miles are all highway miles. He owned it for 23 years then bought a new one. The drivers seat and steering wheel show a little wear and there are a few very small scuffs and chips in the paint, only noticable up close. Even the motor is extremely clean. I paid $4200. The power steering pump has a leak and the sub rattles. Everything else seems perfect. I love this car.

Bought my 1990 about 4 years ago for $500 with 211k on the odometer. It's my first car. It now has 242k. Immediately had to replace front suspension links and tie rods because the bushings were gone which was about $1000. Since then I put in a new climate control LCD and front seat belts. Next is a new antenna mast that doesn't go all the way down. Other than that it just burns oil so I check the level frequently. Engine and transmission have been bullet proof but the interior is worn and the body has some scratches and rust.

It's been great for getting me to college and on cross country trips. It has the built in phone which is cool for the nostalgia but gets in the way of the center console. Love how comfortable it is and that even though it's older than me it doesn't show its true age. Can't beat having a V8 under the hood either!

Default Super low miles

I bought my 93' Lexus LS400 at the end of June, 2014... Only had 33,000 miles on it. Super low, and I'm gonna keep it for a very long time. Looking forward to making it mine and already upgraded the stock head unit.

Paid $8K Near perfect condition.

I bought my 1992 LS400 for $1300 2 years ago with pretty much everything working. 217,000 on broken odometer so who knows. Still drives great. Steering wheel gear problem of course and the antennae mast didn't go up or down. It had been in a wreck in it's life (salvage title) and had a new paint job. The only things I've done to it in these two years is repair the power steering pump leak, replace some front end bushings, the thermostat, and the battery. Unfortunately, the AC has stopped working and instead of the costly repair, I'm trying to sell her for $800. I going to look at an original owner, garaged it's whole life, all maint. records, 1991 LS400 today.... The guy is asking $2400 but I am gonna try and pay 1800, which I think is fair. The drivers leather is still cracked and supposedly the radio doesn't work. This is all in Austin, TX btw.

Just picked up a 1990 LS400 with only 115,800 miles on it. Interior is tan leather, needs conditioner but no tears so far. Car is in really good shape, the tool kit and first aid kits were never unwrapped! Black Onyx exterior paint, looks really good for 24 yrs old... with a clay bar treatment and good wax, it will look very, very nice. Need to tint the windows soon. Needs tires and a few minor things, but overall a gem @$3100

Default 2000 Platinum Edition

Purchased my 2000 LS400 Platinum Edition with 40,300 miles for $14,900 in April from Lexus of Greenville, SC. A few minor scratches and chips in the paint, but the interior is immaculate. Dealer changed the timing belt and installed new Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires as part of the deal.

I just purchased a 93 with 209,000 for $1900, which had an asking price of $2400. It was supposedly old man garaged, at it looks like it! Paint is amazing, interior as well. No full on leather tears yet, great tires. Unfortunately, it's having the ECU/ECM problem that I just learned was a thing.... this thread is a must for anybody having weird issues on their LS400 or any older Japanese car: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...capacitor.html I've ordered the caps (like $10) to rebuild the ECU.....I should have a real deal at that point! It also came the original ECU which I might try and rebuild as well to have a backup.

Sold my 92 with broken AC, needing a control arm or two, mismatched tires, running rich, and a host of little things for $730.

Here's the 93:

So many things replaced with new issues popping up every other week. I spent close to 5k trying to fix this car (Im am idiot) and ended up selling it, non running for $700.
