Hi,

Just wondering how it looks when you replace the factory Pioneer CD Changer to an aftermarket CD Changer? The Factory one looks just right and looks like nothing else will look close to it in regards to fit. PLMK. As always thanks for all of you in CL.

It just seems like my only options is to change everything or just the speakers. The reason I ask of how the looks is that the factory changer in the upper glove box (don't know what that is called) seems to fit just right. Mind you that there is also the trim that goes around the changer. Just wondering if I were to change the changer how it would look without the trim. The aftermarket changer will just be sitting there without the factory trim. LOL...I'm going on and on. OK, do members put aftermarket cd changers in the same spot as the factory cd changer in the upper glove box. Thanks for everyone's patience. Thanks.

u can and just make a trim panel. most just go 2DIN or single Din headunit and dont want a changer. Mp3 compatibility takes precedence.

theres a member here who claims to be able to modify the plug on the factory Pioneer so that you can use it as a cd changer certain aftermarket PIONEER headunits.

I love the look of the factory stereo

I made a $700 mistake by buying a sweet receiver for my old 91.

The deck is awesome but aftermarket CD players just look so cheesey and out of place in my personal opinion.

So now I have a very expensive dust collector!! hahaha

You have a 97 so you would know what I'm talking about in regards to the trim that seems to cover the factory changer in the upper glove box. I'm just wondering if I put an aftermarket cd changer, I'm assuming that I will not be able to keep that trim. How would that look, without the trim and came from factory? Let me know.

Oh in there! I would say go for it if it's hidden in the glovebox but an aftermarket CD changer wouldn't work with the rest of the stock sound system.

But if you have a different head unit then go for it! No one but you is going to see it

hahahahahaha. Yeah I have to change my headunit as well. All I'm worried about is that whether that trim piece is actually functional. Just have to know! LOL. Let me know.

I'm sure lexusaudio knows how to get an aftermarket unit working with the factory headunit. However, in reference to the fit of an aftermarket unit, I doubt you will be able to get an aftermarket unit to fit in the factory location without a fair bit of handywork.
