Exclamation Help! About to buy 95 LS400

A very good frind of mine is about to buy a LS400. He asked me to help him out so here I am.

We went to see the car today. Looks ok for its age. It has a dent on the drivers door. Black exterior with beige interior. Stock chrome wheels. It has 135k miles. engine and tranny sound and feel good.

The bad... are these common problems?

The climate control is not working. no a/c or heat. I read up on a few post and it seems to be something with the cigarette lighter fuse. Is that correct?

I also noticed the car has air suspension. I press on the norm/high button and I did not feel a difference. I own a gs400 so I do not know what to expect.
well nothing happened. I rocked the car up and down and the suspension felt very weak.

The person is asking for 3500 for it.

now is It worth it.

How much will we need to fix these problems

Default Climate control module cost

I don't know about the LS400, but on my 2000 LX470, the climate control module is a $4,000 replacement. I had three buttons that were difficult to press and was thinking about replacing the control panel (where you press the buttons) Needless to say, I just press the buttons more firmly rather than expending $4k.

Not sure if the panel is what is needing to be replaced in your situation to fix the A/C and heat.

Did you press the norm/high button while the car was on?? It should raise/lower the car with the air suspension.

depends, does your friend like to work on cars or not. also, was the 100K miles service performed? Make sure all the belts have been changed. also check the power steering. those can be costly repairs.
My opinion is dont buy it.
