Tranny shifts hard on Park
I notice that my tranny develops this symptom recently: when I park my car unevenly (2 right wheels are on the pavement, 2 left are on road - favourite parking position hehe) and when i start it, turn shift to P, the car is pulled back hard back with a loud noise, everything is still normal for other shift position D, N, L, 2. It never happens when my car is park evenly
tranny fluid level is correct, should I try to overflow the tranny a bit?

Do yo mean when you put it into Reverse FROM Park, or that it does it as you are putting it into Park and shutting the car off... I am assuming the first.
You may want to check the idle speed.. if the engine is running faster than normal... should be 800-1000RPM. If for some reason it is idling very high.. it will JERK backwards as it goes into reverse... Mine idles a little high when the engine is cold.. and I also noticed that it jerks more going into reverse than into drive.
It could also be that you have a worn transmission mount, or a combination of both. The mount is not expensive..bout $75.. and I have heard here that it is easy to change yourself... I am sure mine is worn some too.. I have 183K on my 94LS.
Hope that helps..

my bad I meant from P to R, you understand my message right Ken. yep the possibility is high idle and worn tranny mount, however, i notice it jerks back hard (noticeable) only when i park my car that way. when it is on even ground, there is no problem. my idle is about 850rpm
tranny mount and engine mount should be replaced as mine have 100k+ on it (ls400 '90)
thanks a lot for your reply Ken
