Default Left rear tire Bald

I washed the car a few days ago and was detailing it in my garage when I noticed that the back left tire was bald as hell. It looks fine from the side but if you look at it from the back, you can see that it is all worn out, like a slick.
I was amazed, because I bought all 4 tires in used, but almost new condition January 2007. Did alignment October 2007 when I changed the strut bars. At that time the mechanic did tell me that, that wheel was out of alignment and he fixed it.
Interesting part is that the tire has a good amount left on the outside, and a bit less on the inside, but the middle is all bold. I do a burn out or a 360 here and there once a month or so, but I cannt imagine the left wheel being used more than the right one.

Can this be a suspension problem, or a tire defect?

one of three reasons:

A-ur alignment is off
B-ur tire is over inflated (causes wear on the center portion of the tread first)
C-both of those AND you burned out/did 360s, which tend to stress ONE wheel more than the other (possibly the rear left in your case) since the LS400 never came with an LSD.

Stop doing doughnuts!!!!

Seriously though - if you don't drive like a nut, maybe there was some sort of defect with the tire? Since you purchased them used, you probably don't have a treadwear warranty.

You'll probably just have to purchase yourself a pair of tires for the back. Obviously that tire is unsafe - but I bet you could get a ticket for it too if the local Leo sees it.

I had a similar problem, only I think it was the previous owner drove on it while it was somewhat flat.

Still lasted me about 3000 miles completely bald until one day it gave in and stopped holding air altogether.
