Default Looking to get a UCF 21...QUESTION

I understand the factory air suspension was an option, but did the LS ever have any "packages" that came with it? Other than looking at the suspension itself, how could I tell if air suspension is installed? I might be looking online for one, and I'd like to only target those with factory air.

Look for the button with HEIGHT Low/Norm/High etc on it next to the PWR button to the left of the gear shift. If you have the HEIGHT type button it has air suspension.

ucf21 = most of the time is air ride suspension

and for you fools that think ucf21 means 98-00, you are wrong

calm down tu, we've already settled this

the OP is looking for factory A/S but nobody's told him to just look for the height adjustment switch next to the shifter

after that you look at the top of the struts (lift the hood...) and make sure it has the TEAS/valves.

A/S doesn't appear to be common on the 2000 Platinum Series or on the 98-00 LS400. I've never seen a 98-00 LS400 with A/S but maybe they are not common here in the central U.S.

I suspect you will find only fully optioned cars with A/S. If the car doesn't have heated seats and Nakamichi or Nav, I doubt if it will have A/S.

platinum series cars for the most part came almost fully loaded. i think heated seats and traction control came standard. the air suspension option did have some "requirements" like traction control though. so basically, if someone is looking for an LS with air suspension, make sure you look at the cars that are fully loaded with every option imaginable

Can anyone get a picture of the air suspension button? This would help me a lot when looking through online photos.

nope, when my dad was looking for a plat. series LS oh so many years ago we went thru about 30some odd PLATINUM series cars, and not one was with A/S.

outside of the US the "ultra lux" cars that had rear ac controls pretty much always had A/S, but INSIDE the USA the platinum series was just a package with emblems, mono paint (on some colors) plat. floor mats and badges, and a different kind of wood inside. my dad's plat series still says UCF20

Most Platinum Series cars I have seen in person, on ebay or on Lexus.com back several years ago when they were still being sold as CPO, have been the lower content SE variation without heated seats and with the standard audio system - no Nak or Nav. All LS400 Platinums have maple wood trim, black pearl exterior badges, textured leather, HID, sunroof, 01 LS430 wheels, Platinum Series floor mats, and those little Platinum Series plaques on the front fenders.

Only Platinum Series cars with Nak or Nav have heated seats: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...light=Platinum

All 98-00 LS400 cars have VSC and "snow mode". As far as I can tell, the only way to emulate the older traction control system is to put the ECT selector into "Snow" mode. What you might call "traction control" is OFF by default on the 98-00 LS400 unless you turn it on by selecting Snow mode. On the 90-97 LS400, traction control was ON by default on unless one pressed the Trac off button.

All 98-00 LS400s I've seen advertised with A/S have had Nak or nav or have been 2000 Platinum Series SF (Nak) or SG (Nav) variations.

I think I may just have to find one fully loaded and add air suspension to it.
