Default LS or GS

I have bout 6k cash to spend on a car I am looking at a first gen GS300 and first gen LS400. What are you guys thoughts about these cars. I am not open to purchasing a newer car to reason undisclosed heh. Fuel mileage is not most important, but I am curious as to how each one does since I drive 80 miles a day round trip to work. Thanks for your opinions.

my car averages around 18mpg city/hwy, but i do drive a little aggressively. on long hwy trips i usually get 23mpg but i've gotten as good as 25mpg on a recent trip. these are calculated based on actual mileage driven and gas used, not any type of on-board mileage gauge.

1LS benefit greatly from 2LS calipers and rotors being swapped over, which is pretty straightforward.

starters last atleast 120,000 but they are expensive fixes if you dont know how to do it yourself.

stay away from an air suspension car if you want to keep things inexpensive.. they are costly to replace.

orrr maybe if you find a car with blown air suspension for cheap you can swap in KYB struts and save some money in the end.

the climate control LCD goes bad and in cold weather areas the dashboard lights go out.

Well, I had a first gen GS, and have a first gen LS, and while they do share some similarities, the LS is a better car.

The GS300 will be firmer and more fun to drive. But the LS will be more comfotable and have just a little more power over the GS. Gas mileage will be about the same on both models give or take a mile

u havent driven a 1st gen GS, Stock, they aer a LOT slower than even an early 2nd gen LS, but against a 1st gen id say its pretty even.

both are REALLY soft driving wise, the GS has a slightly firmer steering setup from the factory tho.

well...all boils down....to comfort or sportiness...gas mileage is about the same...well the ls looks more subtle and sedate...but the gs is more sporty and sexy.......

Well I own a 1st gen GS,and I almost bought a 1st gen LS as a daily driver.I like both cars.but I'd go with the 1st gen GS due to there isn't much out there that's modified.well here in Hawaii that is.I love the GS because I also love Supra's and since the GS has a 2JZ under the hood, its as close as I can get to owning a Supra.lol.
