Paint estimate please 94 ls400
I am in an assigned parking spot and the people on either side of me keep scratching/dooring my car. I have many small white scratches on the passenger side and three large scratches on the drivers side. About how much would it cost to get factory matched paint?

It all depends on the condition of the paint damage. If the scratches are through the clear coat or the paint is chipped. It will run between 350.00 to 450.00 dollars per door depending where you live. If you are lucky? And it is only surface damage and no door dents. You might be able to color sand with 1500 grit and repolish the door panel. If the door is dented and the paint isn´t broken? Find a good dentless paint repair guy. He will save you hundred of dollars in paint repair. If you repaint the doors? Do your homework and find a very good paint shop to do the work. Most Lexus have 3 stage paint on them. If you car is a light color? Make sure the use a very good clear to finish your car. Or it will yellow over time. Good luck

The large scratches went through the clear coat I believe, but the small ones on the passenger side only scratched the surface.

Where does one buy 2000 grit sandpaper? The highest home depot has is like 800-1000...

I use 3M or Eagle brand sand paper.
You definitely don't want to use 800-1000 as it takes off a lot of material (and can leave minor scratches even with the compound buffing)...and when sanding, do NOT press down. Just allow the sand paper to do the "cutting" down. When I wet sand, I use a bucket of water with a lil automotive soap in it to keep the sandpaper from clogging or dragging along the surface, keeping the surface wet.
