Antenna mast never had inner nylon feeder?
I finally got around to taking apart my antenna and noticed that it never was connected to the motor whatsoever. The inside had nothing to feed or retract when radio was on or off. All I did was take a long piece of raw copper from some Romex that was laying around the house and stick it all the way down into the motor housing and the other end up into the antenna. I hope this helps attract a better radio signal. Any other things that you can think of to get better reception?

Not to be a smart-***, but a new antenna might help. If the recpetion problem is with the antenna.
