Default how to remove coolant level sensor and how much does it cost?

I have a 1990 ls400. Any info would be appreciated. I do not want to unplug the sensor. I would rather have a working sensor.

Funny you mentioned this. The 1991 LS400 that I am in the process of potentially purchasing also has a faulty sensor. The light stays illuminated. I called the local Lexus dealer to get a price and he said its $135. for the part and $65. labor. I found a place online that sells the sensor for $79. + $8. shipping! The place is " factorylexusparts.com ".

Good luck!

The labor is nothing. The electrical connector unplugs from the harness and then the sender simply unscrews from the tank. At least that was how it was when I replaced it on my old SC400. It should be the same.

I wasn't sure if the sensor just unscrewed or not. I didn't want to rear it up trying to remove it the wrong way. Thanks for the info on the pricing as well..

KWIKRNU - did you ever change your coolant level sensor? I need to change mine and I am wondering if it was the same as the procedure on the SC400 that Sonyman mentioned.
