Default any fix for ABS not working

the car that Im looking to buy soon has a inoperable ABS unit, according to the owner. how much will it cost to fix it? I want to take that into account in buying the car. With winter comming up having a RWD car with no abs is not cool with me.

well I plan on driving it on sunday, on the phone he said that ABS does not work however the car has new brakes and they work great. would that mean that traction control does not work?

96 LS that is all the info I got just want to see if its a $50 repair or $500 is there a abs module on these cars?

If the car has been recently services, could be the ABS cable.
