good point. i will say though that every mechanic i work with also feels the same way about kumhos's. we all run them on our cars and always recommend them whenever someone will listen. take that for what it's worth.

There is now a $60 MIR rebate for all Michelins. check out discounttire.com. Michelin also has a 30 day return policy that states that if you are not happy with your tires for any reason, you can return them for a full refund.

As they used to say in Data Processing (that's what it was called before MIS, IS and IT) about IBM: You'll never lose your job going with IBM.

The same rule applies for Michelins when selecting tires: You just can't go wrong with Michelins.

Good luck,

Eddie
Where did you buy them? At discount tire it's $817.39 OTD - $60 MIR for 225/60/R16 for my LS400.

At discount tire? Were they V-rated or H-rated tires? The rebate link was on the right column when I was searching for tires.

I run Pirelli P6's on my LS, and they are awesome, you also don't loose performance.

All,

Sorry as I should have included this info in first reply.

My tires are H-rated. I had two coupons totaling $70.00. I purchased them at Discount Tire B&M.

You should be able to do about as well (or better) than my price with a little shopping and negotiating.

Eddie

That should account for the price discrepancy, although I have yet to calculate the total cost based on H-rated tires. The lower the speed rating, the lower the cost.

yeah, imo the p6 is junk. people hate them on their jaguars that come with them from the factory.

I live in California, so I dont have the problem with snow, rain.......I have used Michelin's, and I love them, but for the price I payed, and the quiet ride I like the P6, maybe I got the set that was made on Wednesday (mid week not hung over from the weekend, and not thinking about the weekend comming up), before lunch (havent had a lunch time coctail) so I might have the only good set...who knows.

Bump...I am new to this so this is my first post...

I have a 1999 LS400...I have to replace my tires as my Goodyear RS-A's only lasted less than 30K miles ...I've had Michelin's b/f and they weren't a smooth ride...

So...I went to Discount Tire and they recommended Yokohama's and wanted to see if anyone had some experience with them, such as a smooth ride, long lasting, etc... They have YK520 or AVID V4s...Any help would be great...

Thanks in advance...

My wife's Father traded his Michelin Energy's for the Yokohama Avids and never could get them to balance out. After they were worn he replaced them with the same Michelin Energy's - back to normal. I have Toyo Proxes on mine since they are plus sized - hard to beat Michelin's ride and longevity - sorry to hear you had issues.
